We are excited to begin an exciting and informative study of the life of Jesus Christ. As we study His “journey” from preexistence to the cross and beyond, we will gain a working knowledge of His life and ministry. More importantly, with God’s help we will be moved to become more like Christ. “The Cross of Christ” will begin in August. This study is for men and women and will be led by Minister Donald Bryant. Please come out and join the study on Wednesday nights.
Sunday School Ministry
THEME: “Discipleship and Mission”. Memory Verse: In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. -Hebrews 9:22; Colossians 2:6-7; Matthew 5:16 (NIV).
Daily Bible Readings for Next Week’s Sunday School Lesson:
Mon: Saul Fears David (1 Samuel 18:10-16)

Please contact Sister Verlean Harley (CEM Co-Chair), Pastor Parrish, or Sister Renee LeMay. Interested members will be trained and practice teaching under supervision prior to teaching a class. New Member's Classes meet the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM.
The Christian Education Ministry would like to thank our SBCNS family and friends for your support in helping our 2019 Community Baccalaureate Service to be a joyful celebration. This year is the 10th anniversary of participating in the packaging of meals for the Rise Against Hunger effort! The committee decided to create special T-shirts in honor of the five churches participating and use it as a fundraiser to continue the support. The shirt inscription: “Project James 2:16, 10th Anniversary, #2030isPossible” with two different graphics: eating utensils with a cross in the center, and one fork with crosses flowing (see below) with RISE AGAINST HUNGER across the back.
The committee also decided to make our 10-year goal 100,000 meals. We will be exploring the suggestion of trying to get some corporate/group sponsors to donate. Our goal is $29,000!!
Below are the three different designs for the T-shirts. Youth sizes are $12 and Adult sizes are $15. We have a very limited amount on hand, but any sizes/color can be ordered for you! These will be great to wear for the meal packaging event!
Please see or email Deacons Doug “Sox” Richardson (Deaconsox@aol.com) or Audrey Prestonsoto (email@example.com) if you would like to see the shirts and place an order. All final orders must be submitted not later than August 15th, 2019. Order early and beat the rush!!!
Our 2019 RISE AGAINST HUNGER event will be NOVEMBER 16, 2019.
